Bruce Holsapple to Read November 19

The monthly third Tuesday open reading at Palacio bar in Mesilla welcomes special guest Bruce Holsapple, poet from Magdalena, NM, on November 19.

Bruce Holsapple’s ninth and newest book is Wayward Shadow.  Of his book Vanishing Act (2010), Dana Wilde of the Bangor Daily News writes, “it starts pulling you along to find out what happens next, what extraordinary desert vista from New Mexico (where the author now lives) or woods or street scene from Maine (where he grew up) triggers what response, reaction, reflection or reverberation.”   Holsapple grew up in Maine and studied poetry with Robert Creeley, Joseph Conte and Charles Bernstein at SUNY Buffalo.

Holsapple will read at 8:00 p.m.  Come before then to sign up for the open reading which will follow: three poems or five minutes of prose are standard for the open mike.  Michael Mandel is host.
