Donald Levering to read in Mesilla April 16

Donald Levering, frequent contributor to Sin Fronteras Journal, will read his work as a special guest at the SPLAT open reading at Palacio Bar, 2600 Avenida de Mesilla, on Tuesday evening, April 16.

SPLAT (Society for Poetry, Literary Arts and Theater) readings are held on the third Tuesday of the month, sponsored by Sin Fronteras/Writers Without Borders.  Come at 7:30 to sign up and settle in.  The formal reading begins at 8:00 p.m.  For the open reading which will follow the guest poet; bring 3 poems or five minutes of prose.  The monthly readings have been going on for over twenty years, longer than the journal has been published.

Donald Levering, NEA Fellow in Poetry, was a Jane Kenyon Award finalist and Atlanta Review International Poetry Competition prizewinner in 2012. His poetry books include The Number of Names, Sweeping the Skylight, Whose Body, The Kingdom  of Ignorance, The Fast of Thoth, Horsetail, Mister Ubiquity, Outcroppings from Navajoland, Carpool, The Jack of Spring. and, most recently, Algonquins Planted Salmon. An environmental and human rights activist, he lives in Santa Fe, NM.
